Hfan Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 I have a plan to downsize my collection (never planned on becoming a guitar collector but stuff happens). I hope to end up with a core group including a hollow body P90 guitar. The H530 intrigues me. Any comments welcome, pictures, advice, history etc. Seems most had Lollar P90s installed. I have heard that Jay Wolfe had the original idea for the model.
Millennium Maestro Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 I like the 530s, there are light and VERY resonant! If I was doing one for myself I would custom order with humbuckers. I too had a concept(NOT) and special ordered a full hollow pimped up prospect it was at PSP, I put her out on display for a few hours at the hotel but she just got gawked on... The thing that intrigues me is the jazzbox influence in a very well playing smaller electric footprint.
StephenK Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 MM, That Prospect was smoking. Have thought about it several times this fall. Peace, Brother

In a more compact body shape than my 575. Of course the 530 would be a little bigger than a Prospect.

Hfan Posted November 10, 2015 Author Posted November 10, 2015 And reading some old threads dealing with H530s, came across this one and Gitfiddler's H525 has left me speechless...Dibs.. came close to getting one some years ago. http://www.heritageownersclub.com/forums/topic/12460-h-137-vs-h-525-vs-h-530/
Hfan Posted November 10, 2015 Author Posted November 10, 2015 And another cool thread on TGP, Fred Zepp flying the colors with this picture and Heritage getting some love on Gear Page: http://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/who-has-owned-a-heritage-h530.822416/ "All of Heritage guitar necks are hand made or "rolled" on an old belt sander that has been at Parsons St for a very long time. There is some variance in standard spec to a small degree due to this method. But older Heritage guitars may have a slightly thinner neck than the current which is commonly a Medium C. But it could have been ordered originally with any shape." Some of the 530s have pickguards..are the stock ones plastic?
Hfan Posted November 10, 2015 Author Posted November 10, 2015 Love Mine! Nice, one of my favorite finishes..but is that a 530? Looks like a 535...or is it a 530 with buckers?
FredZepp Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Nice, one of my favorite finishes..but is that a 530? Looks like a 535...or is it a 530 with buckers? I would think that the stop tailpiece means semi-hollow..
FredZepp Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 I've played Eljay's 530 a couple of times... love that Heritage. It's a unique beast compared to solidbodies or even semi-hollow. My Prospect with the floating block is more similar. Guys full hollow Prospect is a wonderfully resonate guitar also.. All are great examples of Parsons Street craftsmanship.
RhoadsScholar Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Can't go wrong with a 530 or a 525. I like the little bit of extra depth the 525 has. There was a 530 in the for sale section for $1400, quite a deal there (if still available).
RhoadsScholar Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 If you want to go all out, this is my favorite Heritage, a 530 with a 3"" depth and a 25.5 inch scale length... http://s1152.photobucket.com/user/rhoadsscholar/media/p54_zpsgkpjiyv5.jpg.html?sort=3&o=5

If so I'd be interested in working something out.

FredZepp Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 530 w/buckers. It was a custom build. I wonder what is under the stop tailpiece for it to be bolted into... a wood block mounted to the top or to the back ? .. Unusual for a full hollowbody to use a stop tailpiece..

kayaman Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Just received this guitar - just cant believe how resonant it is - and feels so solid compared to an Epiphone Casino. The neck on my H-530 is considerably wider and deeper - which helps the resonance - and the Lollar pickups are so percussive and hot. Just haven't found the full stride of this guitar yet - LOVING IT!
