Rockrink Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 I picked up a used 535 and it has a 2 stamped on the back of the headstock. I believe this represents that it's a factory second. Is there an easy way to determine the defect that rendered it a second?
davesultra Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 I recall having a '98 H-150 that was stamped "2". Try as I might, I never could find the flaw.
Polo Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Did the person or place you bought the H535 mention the #2 designation prior to the sale? #2 can be tough resell.

Apparently not! ........... Most comments here about the 2 Stamp are the flaw is very hard to detect, re: Dave. But seriously, there are those that won't look at a gtr with the 2 stamp. So yeah, that should be disclosed WAY upfront.
brentrocks Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 i just bought and returned a H140 Chicago Rocker that has a #2 on it. it was pretty obvious...there was seperation between the neck and fretboard by the nut. the guitar was SSSSOOOOOOO clean.....but the trem posts were leaning bad!!! so i had to return it it is currently at GC kazoo
HANGAR18 Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 I picked up a used 535 and it has a 2 stamped on the back of the headstock. I believe this represents that it's a factory second. Is there an easy way to determine the defect that rendered it a second? It is usually very difficult to tell what the flaw might have been. I don't really think they will let something out of the factory that is too screwed up.
High Flying Bird Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I handed Marv Lamb my HFT-475 and he couldn't find the flaw.
tulk1 Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 maybe it was only flawed in your hands Ouch!!!!!
Hfan Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 I handed Marv Lamb my HFT-475 and he couldn't find the flaw. That's funny.. maybe it was only flawed in your hands That's funny too. How many brands let crap go out regardless of flaws (Gibson cough cough..and I'm still a fan). A "2" Heritage may be a good way of getting a great deal.
Rockrink Posted December 20, 2015 Author Posted December 20, 2015 The one I got was a great deal and I love it. I was just curious. I emailed Heritage but got no reply.
