Used guitar day

I thought my next Heritage would be a GT or OSB LW H150

but, this, my fourth, is an Antique Natural Millie

I took it out last night and it really likes gain. That's what the music called for and this guitar delivered through my JCM 800. Thick, rich harmonics and fat, sweet, on the edge of out-a-control sustain. Nice.

We haven't practiced at volume for months and I was glad that I brought a forgiving amp. I wasn't really judging the guitar because I was too busy trying to remember my parts. Eventually I may add to this thread with specs and thoughts.

First quick impressions:

The guitar is in great shape considering it has had four previous owners.

The neck is a handful. The board felt flatter than a 12" radius - probably my imagination.

Much closer to an H150 than an H535.

Access above the 19th fret is a little awkward, but not impossible.

The strings are a bit lighter and the setup a bit lower than my usual - bonus?

I didn't give the Skatterbranes much of a workout. In the context of high gain, they were versatile using the middle position and the volume knob. I did get some bite on the bridge pu with volume down to 3 and then a little grind with pick attack.

A pretty nice guitar

Thanks again Dave for a fine Heritage.

Man, that Millie is off-the-hook beautiful. Congratulations, I know many of us were salivating over it, haha. Glad it found a good home. Enjoy it!

Congrats Buzzy! That is an awesome guitar. I'm also glad that it found a good home. My trigger finger was getting more itchy by the day.

Play it in good health!

You got some wild grain there! I like it. Skatterbranes seem quite appropriate. Congrats!

Nice to hear it found a good home. It's truly a fine guitar, but it's also nice to have a little more room to move around in the jam pit!
