barrymclark Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 That Centurion is holy grail of Heritage Guitars. Period.that and the mythical A serials. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hfan Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Wow, never knew the history, had assumed the model name was just a random designation. How many were made and do they ever pop up used? Probably unobtanium.
Polo Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Wow, never knew the history, had assumed the model name was just a random designation. How many were made and do they ever pop up used? Probably unobtanium. There's only one Centurion on the planet. HOC legend has it that FredZepp and his friend Bilbo Baggins travelled halfway to Mordor to pick it up after seeing it on Ebay a few moons back.

Kuz Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 I think if we are all completely honest, even with binding, the head stocks on the solidbodies/semi-solidbodies is not very visually appealing. Does it bother me for a second, NO. But do I ever look up at my 150s or 535/555 headstocks and say, "Dang, that sure is classy & pretty" ? NO. It is more functional, but other lutheriers like Collins, McInturff, and Thornton have designed better looking "stings straight to posts" headstocks. I am not being a Heritage headstock hater, I am just saying it could have been designed more visually appealing, but it doesn't bother me and certainly wasn't a deal breaker.
buzzy Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Thank you Internet, for convincing me that I don't like this sleek, functional design - NOT! Identifiable as a Heritage even from the back
HANGAR18 Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 I'd rather have a snake head headstock than a webbed duck foot headstock.
pressure Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Heritage Spruce Prospect headstock, bound Ebony with pearl Heritage logo and Eagle. Just took this with my phone because my daughter still has my camera from my sons graduation 2 weeks ago. Not that it would be a better picture with the camera but...
2bornot2bop Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 Simple headstock "envy" if you ask me! [/url]
Kuz Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 Again, I am not a Heritage headstock hater (I own 7 of them) but here are some examples of "straight through" headstocks that are just a little more refined and less-primative. I am luck to have a McInturff & CP Thornton, and like Heritage headstocks they look better bound with inlay and in person.
DavesNotHere Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 Despite the opinion of some on this board, a bound Heritage headstock is a thing of beauty.
