hopkinwfg Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 was wondering if Heritage can build the historic Flying V ? korina ?
Polo Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Yes. They can and they have but unfortunately they wont. So no.
davesultra Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 "V" and Explorer styles are a couple "H" doesn't seem to want to do. My guess would be Marv isn't too hip on the idea. Too bad.
DetroitBlues Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 They even have a stack of V bodies left over from Gibson days... But they won't build them...
Gitfiddler Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 As heavy as the average H-150 is, can you imagine the weight of a Heritage built V?! Also, there's already a few V-style guitar makers out there to satisfy those relatively few customers interested in that unique style of guitar.

I'm absolutely certain that they would use Korina for a V.
HANGAR18 Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Marv doesn't want to risk getting sued by Gibson (again).
Spectrum13 Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 They even have a stack of V bodies left over from Gibson days... But they won't build them... And it's a shame they are just collecting dust.
big bob Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Yes. They can and they have but unfortunately they wont. So no. The one they built was backward.
Polo Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 The one they built was backward. That's the one.

davesultra Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Perhaps they're waiting for big "G" to offer them a huge pile of $$$ for the "old wood".
davesultra Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Really makes you wonder what kind of a "Custom Shop" they truly are.
JeffB Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Really makes you wonder what kind of a "Custom Shop" they truly are. To be fair ,Tom Anderson Suhr and a host of others "custom" builders dont stray too far from only a few models/shapes
Polo Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 The one they built was backward. [/url It probably looked like this one at some point.
Conneazoo Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Really makes you wonder what kind of a "Custom Shop" they truly are. This is definitely the case.
jaywolfe Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 I was working the Heritage booth at an early Nashville NAMM many moons ago and a guy walks over & inquires..." will Heritage make me a flying V with a Bigsby?" I looked at his badge & he was Lonnie Mack, whom I impersonated once in Grand Isle, Louisiana- but that's another story from my misspent youth. I explained that they wouldn't & he told me how much he despised Gibson. We had a nice chat, I related the impersonation tale, we had a chuckle & that were that. Nice guy.
Gitfiddler Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 ][ It probably looked like this one at some point. That would have made a great looking Albert King lefty V.
