Nash535 Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I am strongly considering buying one of these two guitars as my main guitar. Thoughts or experiences on each? Which do you think is the more versatile? What do you think of a Seth Lover in the neck and a '59 in the bridge. Where is the best place to buy a new one? Used one? Thanks in advance for any info you can provide. Chris Nashville, TN
Millennium Maestro Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I don't think you can go wrong with either model, I own both. Big fan of Seths (A2 magnets) can be a little squirrelly at high volumes.(Unpotted) I love to talk guitars, your welcome to discuss any question you may have and I can even place your order where you can specify additional features your seeking. There are a few of us on the HOC that will take excellent care of you, we also have a yearly pilgrimage to Kalamazoo which includes a factory tour and would be a perfect time to pick up that special order and meet a bunch of us guys... I am off to NAMM, stay tuned for my updates. PM me with your number and I will call you. Have a great hunt, your definitely on the right path to a very special guitar. Guy
kidsmoke Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I own a 535 as my singular, primary electric. I've lusted after and played a few prospects. The construction is identical between the two models, with modest dimensional differences, the prospect is a bit narrower. So it comes down to comfort and cosmetics, both totally subjective issues. Same with the pickups. Those SD pickups are widely used, and lots of people love them. It's about YOUR ears. If you're a smaller guy you may find the Prospect a tad more comfy than the 535. But as to a recommendation 535 or Prospect? YES!
tulk1 Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I am strongly considering buying one of these two guitars as my main guitar. ------------- Excellent idea Thoughts or experiences on each? ---- I've had both. I prefer the Prospect. But that is me. And only for the size. Which do you think is the more versatile? ----- They're the same, versatile-wise. What do you think of a Seth Lover in the neck and a '59 in the bridge. ----- That will sound great. However, the SL, tho', is unpotted isn't it? And the '59 is. Isn't there a potted version of the SL? Where is the best place to buy a new one? Used one? -- We have a couple of member dealers. GenericMusic and Milennium Maestro. Either one will do you right. Thanks in advance for any info you can provide. Chris Nashville, TN
Steiner Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Where is the best place to buy a new one? Used one? -- We have a couple of member dealers. SkyDog52 and Milennium Maestro. Both are superior people and the best avenue for getting the perfect, custom guitar. I don't believe GenericMusic is a dealer
Polo Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 This is like picking between super attractive sisters with slow morals, there's no wrong answer....or brothers if that's your scene! If your 6'2" go with the H535, if your 5'2" go with the Prospect. I own both of these models and few others but have always considered my H535 to be my #1. They're the shit.period. P.S.- Seth's all day!!!!!!

Yooper Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 P.S.- Seth's all day!!!!!! Oh, yeah. Then after that, some P-90s.
Spectrum13 Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I am strongly considering buying one of these two guitars as my main guitar. OK Thoughts or experiences on each? Have a custom Prospect. Floating block and P90s. Much lighter and a bit smaller than a 535. Would you change your name to Nash-prospect? Suggest you bone up on custom appointments available... lots of options. Which do you think is the more versatile? Tie What do you think of a Seth Lover in the neck and a '59 in the bridge. Good choice and should be a no-cost option. Where is the best place to buy a new one? Used one? Best place used.. HOC Forum "for sale" from a know member. New: best deal is to attend a PSP and work up something with Marv and Ren and purchase through one of the Dealers attending our gathering. New Want quick and feel lucky? Wolfe Guitars in Jupiter Fl has the largest stock and can ship. New Corner Music is a Heritage dealer and stocks a few. When I was last there (October) they had a couple of 150s hanging. Thanks in advance for any info you can provide. Chris Nashville, TN
eljay Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 i have a 535 for sale on the forum. be glad to talk with you. (keeping my prospect).
HANGAR18 Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Obviously both fantastic guitars. The 535 has the greater mass appeal. Between the two, when sitting on a chair and you have the guitar resting on one leg, the 535 brings the centerline of the strings and fretboard up closer to your armpit which has a distinctly different playing feel than doing the same thing with a smaller body guitar (like the Prospect or a H150) played in the same manner. Whichever your personal preference dictates is what you should go with.
rwinking Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 So I have a 535 and love it. However after reading these posts, I am coming to the realization that I may have made a foolish mistake. I should have bought a Prospect to go along with the 535.
