MikeChandler Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Watch this video, or skip straight to 1:56 to see the headstock up close. Something rather odd about the shape. Honestly this guy tears it up anyway, so you should just watch the whole video and probably ignore the headstock mod.
High Flying Bird Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 There was a guy a few years ago who posted a headstock mod that looked like this one.
pegleg32 Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Would like to see the back plate on that one.
MikeChandler Posted February 4, 2016 Author Posted February 4, 2016 Well, for what it's worth, I like the heritage headstock. The gibson has too much angle on the g string, from the nut to the tuners. Honestly if the heritage came to a perfect point, I'd probably even like it more. The ideal headstock let's all strings run straight to the tuners.. oh wait, that's a leo fender design. lol. In any case after using some nut files briefly my heritage kept perfect tune (past tense, as it's currently disassembled and on it's way for a refinish). But if anything - that headstock in the video looks like an epiphone to me!
DetroitBlues Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 There was a forum member here in Europe that took a Heritage H150 and reworked it in the shape of a Gibson headstock. This is an aftermarket job, not done by the factory. While it came out great, it represents something most of us would never consider. With exception to Brent... He found a broken H150 with a snapped off headstock and figured out how to attached a broken headstock from a Gibson Les Paul.... That was rather cool.
brentrocks Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 ...and i turned it into an Ace Frehley tribute....
DetroitBlues Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 ...and i turned it into an Ace Frehley tribute.... That was killer!
TalismanRich Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 Gregor is an excellent blues player from Germany, who also happens to buy and sell guitars. He can make just about anything sound sweet. Somehow he seems to find lots of collectible stuff, from '59 Les Pauls to Dumble Overdrive Specials. Surprisingly, his CDs don't seem to be available in the US. I looked for them a few years back, and couldn't find them. Thankfully on Youtube Gregor has quite a bit of stuff posted.
