MikeChandler Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Is there such a thing? I searched the forums, and I don't see it... I've got my eyes on a heritage H-150 CM with the "original sunburst" finish, and it says it's a spanish cedar body. If so, what does that sound like compared to mahogany?
MikeChandler Posted February 5, 2016 Author Posted February 5, 2016 Blech, I should learn how to use the search tool better. I didn't notice it was being context sensitive. This guitar has been posted here once already: http://www.heritageownersclub.com/forums/topic/29862-one-for-kuz-spanish-cedar-top-h150/?hl=%2Bspanish+%2Bcedar Although there are no qualitative answers about the sound.
Vanschoyck Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 My understanding is that it is very similar to mahogany. Forum member Kuz I believe knows about these wood variants as far as sound goes and maybe he will weigh in on this.
Millennium Maestro Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Jim has a small stash of Spanish Cedar at the factory. I guess you will see a few guitars come out of Parsons St in SC. It is lighter, search the web for tone response posts.
