jimsoloway Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 I'm thinking of getting a high end leather bag for a custom archtop. Cronkhite is the obvious source since Glenn C is basically the father of the concept. On the other hand, Probag (in Texas, not Bolivia) offer better straps and some different options. Anyone have experience with either or both? Thanks in advance.
Vanschoyck Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Yep, I have an old Reunion Blues brown leather gig bag for strat type guitars, or teles too, from I'd say the mid 1980's. I put lots of miles on it and it shows, but in a cool worn bomber jacket type way. My understanding is that Cronkite did the designs for them back then. Still completely functional after all these years.
jimsoloway Posted February 11, 2016 Author Posted February 11, 2016 For anyone who's interested, I placed an order with Probag. Nothing at all against Cronkhite but they both treated me very well and I liked the level of customization and the added value of the Probag. I'll report back on it in about a month or so.

They definitely have a better web site. The other one looks like it's barely there.
