jaywolfe Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 This is the "sister" to the Golden Eagle I posted last week. One of a trio- GE, SE & Johnny Smith. Not currently offered for sale. J.P. Moats located some AAAA "Bubble Maple" at my request, as the Heritage guys call it and I custom ordered some special spec archtops, and kept 3 of them. This one is a Antique Natural Super Eagle with floater, JS Pickguard, Eagle inlay on the tailpiece Ebony insert and tap tuned by the late great Aaron Cowles. The Guitar is new, unplayed. I will leave the playing to it's next custodian, whom will play a special instrument indeed. Jay Wolfe
FredZepp Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 good stuff there... Some excellent Heritage porn for the HOC... great looking quilted maple..
Speedyeast Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Now, that is a super, Super Eagle. I currently own a SE that was sold by your shop some years ago, but this one just takes the cake. It has the features that I prefer in a SE. I'm a big fan of the late Aaron Cowles' work, too. Thanks for posting.
Frank67 Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 ... Would love to own that trio ... Amazing!
SofaPlayer Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Jay, that's cruel! What keeps you from releasing it into the hands of the next custodian?
Spectrum13 Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Jay, that's cruel! What keeps you from releasing it into the hands of the next custodian? So cruel indeed! Should you post the Johnny Smith, it would be considered a war crime.
2bornot2bop Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Beautiful Super Eagle. Rare acoustic too! Makes me wonder if this Sweet 16 was part of the "cloud maple" group that was created? It was created in the same era.
jaywolfe Posted March 2, 2016 Author Posted March 2, 2016 2bornot2bop Could be. That baby is gorgeous. What year is it? Is it tap tuned? Looks familiar. So fine indeed. The Venetian cutaway is rare for those and they really do no like to do it. Congratulation on an amazing Heritage. Jay Wolfe

She was born in 1994. Great Sweet 16' she is!
