ironmike Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 I have had this guitar for quite a while, it got put aside as my other guitars were trumpino it,so I took a good look at it and installed some news 500k cats pots and some .022 uf Russian pio caps ,the.new I strung it with d'adario 13 guage Ltd jazz roundwounds, wow!,really came alive, love this guitar with roundwounds!I had flats on this guitar, but rounds make it happen on the carved maple.
ironmike Posted March 20, 2016 Author Posted March 20, 2016 The rounds and the Pots made this guitar fantastic !
tulk1 Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 What color is that? Depending on the year, it's not a bad thing to see what pots/caps are under the hood on a Heritage. As Ren has been noted to say, "it's what we had here".
ironmike Posted March 21, 2016 Author Posted March 21, 2016 that's an almond sunburst and the guitar is about 20 years old.
mad dog Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 +1 on the roundwounds. My 575 is a blueburst custom, from 2004 I think. I pieced together a .12 set, with .50 low E and .40 on the A if I'm remembering correctly. Perfect strings for this guitar. Roll off some tone on the neck p/u for a great jazz sound, dig in harder down near the bridge and the tone sharpens, cuts through. Great guitar! MD
ironmike Posted March 25, 2016 Author Posted March 25, 2016 Yeah,i'm 13 through 54 I think just right for me,great vertical guitar
Teo22 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 I just bought a 2009 H575 that came with flatwound strings and I was very "unimpressed" with the tone so I switched to roundwound a what a difference. I love this guitar, it sounds great now. I put on some .11s because I like the playibility of the lighter strings, but maybe I lose something in the sound because of it. I wouldn't know, so would love to hear any comments about lighter vs. heavier strings. Also, mine is a 2009 and was wondering if anyone would know what pots are on it, or how I might find out. Thanks, Ken
