Sensible Angel, "You have 4 guitars, you don't need another."
Persuasive Devil, "But you don't have a Les Paul style..."

Sensible Angel, "What about the bathroom reno that you promised would happen this year?"
Persuasive Devil, "Just click on "Make Offer"..."

OK, well THIS happened:

Confession: My brother had a National copy of a Les Paul in the 70s that looked a lot like this guitar - sometimes he even let me play it! ... and I couldn't fight the powerful nostalgia.

2006 --- the 235th Deluxe? (numbered 235)

Heritage%20150%20Deluxe%20Serial_zpsj6m9

Was originally delivered to dealer Lasar Music in Brentwood, TN --- and somehow, eventually (auction?) ended up at Musicland in Bel Air, MD.

They have 2 other 150 Deluxes - #238 a 2006 "Burnt Amber" and #248 a 2008 "Root Beer"...

Beautiful. Certainly understand how futile it was resisting this siren's call. Congratulations!

Reverb has a similar guitar that I "thought" about - not NOS - a 2005 150 Deluxe:

2005%20Heritage%20Deluxe_zpscq9vxqfb.jpg

...it is the #230 Heritage 150 Deluxe built...

2005%20Heritage%20150%20Deluxe%20Serial_

Still for sale at $1500... (I liked the 2006 better because it was essentially untouched)

Either way, the Deluxes are awesome with the multi-binding, chrome hardware, scarfed 1-piece back, and ultra top!

OK, I've posted 4 times in this thread - am I excited or what???!!!

There's something about this guitar that just screams 70s! I wish I knew how to play the opening riff of School's Out --- hey Brent, any chance you could try that out on your next guitar demo? That intro seems like the exact thing that a Heritage 150 was born to do...!!! Something for me to learn...

It won't arrive until the weekend - these are the seller's photos...

You did good! Now comes the hard part. (No, not explaining to the Mrs. about the delayed bathroom remodel). Waiting for your box to arrive!!!

Congratulations. Looks very cool.

Another model that is not actively offered anymore, You can still spec one out but it will no longer have the LTD Ed. serials, the late great Floyd was the employee that tracked this Model and that information has been lost, Cherish your little hottie this was in my opinion the best 150 model through the entire 25+ year run.

You have inspired me to a start a share your Deluxe thread!

OK - I have decided to do something unprecedented - prepare yourself for a trip back in time...

Me (yes me!) playing the National copy of a Clownburst Les Paul... sometime in the late70s...

Sure, it has block inlays and my incoming does not - but you can see the resemblance. I wish my brother had kept that National around... it wasn't a bad guitar at all:

(Apparently, I was also a member of the Traveling Jagrs...)

My guess is we were playing "Detroit Rock City"...! :)

Your new guitar is absolutely killer!!!

Congrats.

Now If you'll excuse me, its time to call Musicland in Bel Air, MD.

I'm surprised nobody has asked anything about this "period piece" picture?

Here are some answers in advance:

1) Yes, the handmade sign with cheesy lights in the background says "Lucifer". Yes, we thought that was a cool name for a band.

2) Yes, the light boxes in the foreground were handmade by my father. I made the lightswitch unit myself, only suffering one (albeit frightening) 120V shock during the tesing process. I survived.

3) Yes those are chrome-plated Ludwig drums - our drummer's family was wealthy.

4) I believe that my guitar playing friend is playing a L6S natural

5) You won't be able to make it out, but that is a Heathkit amplifier behind me - built once again by my father. Thanks, Dad.

6) Our pants - well, I don't know... it was the 70s?

Nice axe, and totally understand the nostalgia part of it! My nephew currently owns the Dana guitar I got at 7 years old, although it's got red/white/black stripes on it now. LOL

OH - and classic pic too. I could be your friend on the LS, but only if the pants were homemade. [emoji869]

Red/white/black stripes? Yemen fan?

I just noticed that my buddy's old Sears Silvertone amp is visible in that photo...! That would be a great vintage amp today!

There is a good possibility those pants were homemade!

That is a beautiful H-150...

BTW... Lasar Music was Lane Zastrow's company. He was VP of sales at Gibson , then Sales / Marketing for Heritage.

That's neat! It's possible my guitar was specified by Lane Zastrow himself (along with the other two Deluxes I saw for sale at Musicland) - that's pretty cool.

Thanks for pointing that out,
