jimsoloway Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 I'm in what I hope are the final stages of getting dialed in to the tone I'm going to use on the next album and I think I'm almost there. My plan at this point is to probably use the Heritage for the whole thing. Here's today's test clip. https://soundcloud.com/jim-soloway/podtest2-04-10-16
SofaPlayer Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 I think it sounds wonderful. But your recordings somehow always do. I'll buy that new album for sure.

Vanschoyck Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 It's been interesting to watch your process, one can see how you grow your projects.
unikh550 Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Mr. Soloway, Count me among those who wish to buy your album. You really sound a lot like George Van Epps. Your 'Stardust' was very sad- and beautiful. Love everything Hoagie ever did.- Charles Bevell

Your 'Stardust' was very sad- and beautiful. Love everything Hoagie ever did.- Charles Bevell Thanks. George is one of my heroes. I had the wonderful experience of seeing him perform a number of times towards the end of his career, both with Howard Alden and in his trio with Betty O'Hara. I really do think of those as life changing experiences.
Horace Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 I always enjoy hearing your recordings. Just great. Thanks for sharing.
yoslate Posted May 24, 2016 Posted May 24, 2016 Wonderfully introspective playing. Tone like an amethyst suspended in amber. You're generous to share your work with us, Jim. Thanks!
jimsoloway Posted May 25, 2016 Author Posted May 25, 2016 Thanks guys. I guess what I really need to do now is stop the endless experimenting and finding excuses for not getting the work done and just sit down, do the best I can and record 14 songs.
