pressure Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 Just changed the strings on my Heritage 1990 Sunburst Johnny Smith... it was time. New strings have an unwound 3rd string which allows me to bend a string every now and then. I like them but it is quieter acoustically. Intonation was easy, just push the bridge back and forth. Strings old and new sitting on my guitar maintenance mat. Tools. Cleanup rag and fretboard oil. I oil the board every string change. Neck brace. Finished guitar.
LK155 Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 So you're having problems with your neck too, Richard? Since a little whiplash collision a few years back, mine's never been the same. Back's not right either. Will have to try the beans & rice thing.
schundog Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Glock mats yield the best tone.... Beautiful guitar, Richard. Do you take all of the strings off at once, or change one at a time? I do one at a time on my 575, so I don't have to worry about the intonation changing because the bridge moved. Just curious.
pressure Posted May 14, 2016 Author Posted May 14, 2016 I always change strings one at a time but on this string change the bridge moved anyway. No problem, just nudge the bridge until it's right.
