Smakutus Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 ...and I am trying t find some info on it. What model number, year it was made etc..I had one back in the late 80's.. I am thinking it was either a grey color or a chalky white. I think the pick up ring is metal.. I haven't taken it a part yet but figure that humbucker is a Schaller?Other than the blue paint, the neck is in good shape with some flame in the three piece maple. I'm talking him into getting that blue off and repainting it as close to original as possible.. Any info would be awesome.. Thanks, Jeff
davesultra Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 The original pickup would have been a Bill Lawrence designed, epoxy potted humbucker, hence the odd shaped pickup ring.
Smakutus Posted May 23, 2016 Author Posted May 23, 2016 Cool.. Why is the serial odd on it? Thanks for the info. Anyone have an extra pick up like that for sale? Jeff
davesultra Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 Looks like the 1st letter/digit could be a "D". Have you looked under the control cavity cover to see if there is a sticker beneath? I had a NOS pickup for sale about 6 months ago, but it sold to another forum member.
