hemispherical1 Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 I bought my 535 in 1994 and had a basic understanding what The Heritage Guitars were (ex-Gibson employees, factory, etc.). I assumed the fret markers were just Heritage's way of being different. Over the years I've seen hundreds of pictures and a few Heritages in person, but I don't believe I've ever seen fret markers like mine. I was just curious if anyone else had. On a side note if anyone is interested, I don't know about the first 2 years in this guitar's life, but I bought it from a mom & pop style music store in a strip mall in Stoughton MA, in 1994. The only signs of use were a few scuffs on the pickguard. Although it is a long way from mint, I have the satisfaction of knowing I personally put every scratch & ding on it. -- hemi_ Ps. The color is off a bit on my camera, the binding (originally bright white) is a deep tan / cream, aged color, not yellow.
DetroitBlues Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 That's a custom order for sure. 535's usually have dot inlays, unbound headstocks, no headstock markers, or inlaid logo.... Very nice indeed, thanks for sharing!
111518 Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Those markers were standard on the 575 custom in the early days --they seem intended to evoke the double parallelograms on es175s and 345s and other Gibsons. I've never seen them on a semi, but I guess you could call yours a 545. (I seem to be having a bad photobucket day, or I'd post it, but, if you do a google for Heritage 575 custom images, there's a pic of one in natural.)
CJTopes Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 That is cool. I have never seen those before. I wish they put at least standard blocks on their 535s...

hemispherical1 Posted June 2, 2016 Author Posted June 2, 2016 Thanx for the replies folks, I appreciate it. I almost forgot to mention the 1994 price, which I believe was pretty good, especially considering inflation. Including the hardshell & truss rod wrench (in a lil manila envelope), $500 + tax (5%), for a grand total of $525... Those were the days... -- hemi_
shook494 Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 That's a great looking Heritage. I've never seen those markers, but I dig em'. Thanks for sharing. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
DetroitBlues Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 You could easily flip it now for 3x as much... Not a bad ROI....

DavesNotHere Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Wow, I don't recall seeing those markers. I really like them. Sweet guitar!
