ElNumero Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Anybody ever had a switch go bad in a Boss effects box? When I depress it, the check light comes on but goes out when I release the pedal. I am thinking the switch went bad. I wonder how good their support is. Will find out tomorrow I guess.
davesultra Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 They aren't too hard to replace, if you're handy.
t0aj15 Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 That's the reason I've stopped using Boss pedals altogether. I've had far to many of them fail and it's always the foot-switch.
Grambo150 Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 This might help. http://www.dingotone.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Boss-Switch-Clean.pdf
kidsmoke Posted June 24, 2016 Posted June 24, 2016 Yep a switch on a pedal is like brakes on a car in my opinion. are open to the environment so that dust and crap WILL get in there. They get stomped on regularly. They're cheap and easy to fix/replace. I don't consider a testament to the pedal, unless it happens in the first year or so with light use, then you probably got a bad switch. take 20 minutes to address, and play in peace for X more years....

Kip, are the replacement switches easy to obtain?
schundog Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Click on Grambo150's link. If you can follow directions, you can clean it, or order a new switch from the link at the bottom.
