unikh550 Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Why do people place such a premium on these acoustic guitars? They have lam back/sides. I can see paying over $1,200 if they had solid wood for the back at least, since the sides don't contribute much to sound. There are many comparable guitars made today that sell for $300-600 street, and one can often find all wood models from various makers for under $1,000, though not Taylor, Collings, or Martin. Just wondering.- Charles
cod65 Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 445's have mahogany back and sides. I don't think they were laminated. my price guide says they are worth 600-700$
brentrocks Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 i had one for a while and it had the richest tone of any acoustic i had ever played, next to a Wechter...that is my opinion of course ;D they are worth the coin
