rwinking Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 I was reading the thread on possible new models and someone mentioned an h-110. I googled it and found some pix of it. It looked pretty cool. Anybody have any info on them? How many were made, when, what happened kind of stuff? Rick
davesultra Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Did you check the Heritage website? They're still in production, and listed there.
DetroitBlues Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Great model to reissue. Heritage had a gentleman's agreement (I think) not to build S and T style guitars that compete with Fenders design. I'm sure it could just be a rumor or myth, but there have been a few well made 110's people have refinished to be amazing Super T style guitars.
High Flying Bird Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 At a PSP several years ago Marv told some of us that when Heritage first got started Gibson was giving them hell but Fender was very supportive. As a token of their appreciation Heritage decided not to build any "Fender" style guitars. That was from the Lamb's mouth. ;^)
skydog52 Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 I have sold a couple to customers and they loved them. Lightweight and fun to play. Check out JR Clark and his band. He bought a Beautiful Red Translucent. http://www.jrcblues.com/ He has some videos on his Facebook page.
schundog Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 That looks a lot more like a Gibson Les Paul doublecut standard to me then any Fender.
PunkKitty Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 It's kind of an oddball in a good way. The upper horn reminds me of a Strat. The lower horn reminds me of a LP.
Polo Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Never really understood this model. Definitely my least favorite of them all still in production. Sent from my HTC6500LVW using Tapatalk
rwinking Posted July 8, 2016 Author Posted July 8, 2016 Looks pretty cool but not like a tele at all.It looks like a 170 with one mutant horn. Or also an Ibanez Artist.
mars_hall Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Mine. The H110 caught my eye as a "must-have" the first time I saw one on the wall on Parsons Street.
Spectrum13 Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 In my ten years at HOC the 110 was the only new model/design coming out of Heritage ( I don't count limited editions and artist models / variations) I was asking for the back story on this design as I don't remember hearing if it was a JP, Marv or Jim idea and how it fit into the line. Would be nice to know this before these guys retire.
mars_hall Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Actually it was one of the younger guys there that came up with the design. The name slips me now, but he has been present to PSPs. They had the outline patterns for the Stat and the H150 and combined the two onto a mahogany slab. The lines go together well with the flow of an artist's hand that's both simple and lacking any appearance of being contrived. This contrasts the H110 with other failed attempts on chunks of wood that have been thrown out there by many companies, using a minimum of bandsaw cuts and vetted in the name of "finding that buck for the boss". There will be found, execution lacking in an understanding of the marriage of those dominant flowing and curved lines prevalent in nature.
DetroitBlues Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 From what I read on Facebook... JAY WOLFE of WOLFE GUITARS HAS BEEN HERITAGE’S LARGEST VOLUME DEALER SINCE 1988. DURING THIS TIME JAY HAS INITIATED, PROPOSED & DESIGNED MANY GUITAR MODELS, OPTIONS, AND FEATURES. HERE IS A PARTIAL LIST OF WOLFE’S HERITAGE INNOVATIONS: • Seymour Duncan pickups, instead of the inferior standard Schaller pickups. • Nashville style tune-o-matic bridge & stop bar, instead of the inferior Schaller standard roller bridge & top loader stop bar. But the H-110 wasn't one of his ideas....
barrymclark Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Oops! I was thinking of the H-120.i thought the 127 was the tele one. Wasn't the 120 like a super stripped down bolt on? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's entirely possible that this list was posted before being finalized as I'm nearly certain that adding strings to the guitars was also his idea but there's no mention of that here either?
brentrocks Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Chris Gates designed the H110.....but he never got the credit he deserved for it
brentrocks Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 This is a custom 1-off H110 that chris built before he left Heritage.....this thing was a BEAST. Un-chambered, JB/59 combo, ebony board, string-thru body!!!!

Polo Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Didn't I read that Ed Roman died? Yes he did but only in terms of volume... Sent from my HTC6500LVW using Tapatalk
Steiner Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Yes he did but only in terms of volume... Sent from my HTC6500LVW using Tapatalk I never thought anybody would pick up that old, depleted torch. It must have looked shiny.
brentrocks Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Didn't I read that Ed Roman died? yeah....coupe yrs ago
Conneazoo Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 (I must be quiet, I must be quiet, I must remember the if you don't have anything nice to say adage, I must be quiet..........) I do like the H110 though. It's different, but in a good way. The model mash up is actually appealing to me. That string thru design looks awesome on it as well.
PunkKitty Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Is it just me, or does the H-110 bear some similarity to the Gibson Spirit II? EDIT: Scratch that idea. The horns are different.
