CJTopes Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 Anyone have some pics of a Heritage with the Wine Red Translucent finish that they wouldnt mind posting? I'm thinking of going with this color but I'd like to see it on an axe. It's hard to tell what it will look like on a guitar with the color samples they have on the web page... Thanks...
Polo Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 I've always fancied this Prospect as more of a Wine Red Translucent finish than a Burnt Amber.
CJTopes Posted August 5, 2016 Author Posted August 5, 2016 Thats cool, I'm looking at getting a Prospect Blues Deluxe..
TalismanRich Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 DetroitBlues' new 555 is trans wine red. It was a nice deep red that made the grain really pop out. It was gorgeous!
Polo Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 At a glance it would appear that the Wine Red Translucent finish and the Burnt Amber are VERY close the same. I'd personally consider either to be my favorite non-bursted Heritage finish. Those 2 look like twinsies!
DetroitBlues Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 Well, since Rich already posted my 535, here is a Burnt Amber 140 I had briefly....
HANGAR18 Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 Being a perfectionist as I often am, I should mention that when this guitar is hanging on the wall and only illuminated by normal indoor light, that is appears to be a Burgundy red wine color which doesn't really have a translucent quality to it. I like the changing look of this wine red guitar regardless of what changing light conditions happen to be affecting its appearance. I would not expect this color to ever go out of style.
ledzef Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Blues Deluxe model isn't made anymore. It was a special model made for Ed Roman out here in Vegas. You could order a Prospect Deluxe which means it would come in 5 ply binding. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
CJTopes Posted August 15, 2016 Author Posted August 15, 2016 Not sure if they call it a Blues Deluxe but they will still make one with a solid center block.. DB's 535 is the color I'm looking for!!!!

Good choice on the solid center block. I have the regular floating center block. Stuffed mine with natural sponge to help tame the feedback. The Prospect is just such a JOY to play. Perfect sized guitar, IMO.

Yeah I'm looking for something bigger then my Millie DC and 336 but smaller then a 535. I think I have the color I want, now I have to decide on PUPS..
Gtwibs Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 See I'm not really a fan of the color samples or guitars shown on the Heritage website in this color, but love the look of that Prospect and that 535. Interesting difference.

Interesting difference. I had asked them to get me as close to a "dried blood" version of Burnt Amber on the Prospect. I wanted something in between wine red and walnut.....and I'd say Teske just about nailed it!!
High Flying Bird Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 This old amber burst has some of those colors in it.
CJTopes Posted August 17, 2016 Author Posted August 17, 2016 Thanks for the looks... I'm really digging the wine red trans and think it will look great on a prospect. I had a 535 in trans red which looked cool but I I think I like the wine better...... Besides the regular trans red would usually look pink in photos.... (not the reason I sold it)
