JohnCovach Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 I just read this as part of an online ad for a used 535 from Buffalo Brothers on gbase.com. Buffalo Brothers is a great dealership, so this is a little more interesting than those who have already added this kind of thing to ebay auction descriptions. "Getting harder to find are these semi-hollow beauties from Heritage. At the recent guitar show, the temporary suspension of production by the Heritage Company had dealers and collectors both scrambling to obtain ANY Heritage guitar they could find." This perhaps refers to the recent Philly show. I wonder what was going on there. Did anyone here go?
Thundersteel Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 I guess no one here went. I'm too far from Philly anyhow.
JohnCovach Posted November 24, 2007 Author Posted November 24, 2007 I have to wonder: if there was such a scramble for Heritage guitars at this show, why hasn't that translated into acquisitions on ebay? I've seen a few nice Heritages come and go lately with only the usual interest. You'd expect that the dealers would be swooping these guitars up and stockpiling them for the future, but that doesn't seem to be happening.
skydog Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 If you read it on the internet or in the National Enquirer it's "gotta be true"! I wondered about that statement on BB's web site when I read it.
Dick Seacup Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 I wonder if BuffaloBros didn't put that ad copy up from the last big NAMM (California?). Wasn't there a story that Heritage went, sold out everything they brought to display, took some orders then shut down their booth with a sign that they were overbooked? I swear I read that somewhere (TGP?). Maybe the sale copy is just outdated. Then again, maybe they did go to Philly.
