Yooper Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 My rock, blues & country rig. Don't use it much anymore. Although not an archtop, that thinline could swing some jazz, I bet.
Gitfiddler Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 Lately, my grab and go has returned to the first 'real' guitar I ever owned...a '78 Ibanez 2630. Over the years it's been highly modded to my personal tastes, so it ain't no collector piece. My Heritage 555 is a close second, followed by a G&L Bluesboy, but this old 2630 has been with me for over 30 years, and still takes all comers. And the grab and go amp is a Roland Cube 80GX. This solid state, effects loaded little amp stays in the trunk of my car, ready for jams, band rehearsals and as a back up for my sometimes finicky gigging tube amps.
Genericmusic Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 Although not an archtop, that thinline could swing some jazz, I bet. I bring it as a back up for any gigs I'm playing electric. Most versatile electric guitar I own. And the grab and go amp is a Roland Cube 80GX. This solid state, effects loaded little amp stays in the trunk of my car, ready for jams, band rehearsals and as a back up for my sometimes finicky gigging tube amps. I own a Cube 80XL and match it with a 1X12 cabinet. Probably my most favorite amp. Love the acoustic simulator and JC 120 clean model.
Genericmusic Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 My surf music rig. It only comes out for giggles now. 1954 Silvertone/Danelectro twin twelve and 1957 Danelectro guitar.
Polo Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 Current "grab n go" is a stock '09 H-535 w/ Seths and a Music Man RD50 head w/ a 1x12 Fender frankincab (Marshall G12T-75) * I'll usually take the Fender Acoustisonic along for vocals, it makes a great wedge with an adjustable line out so you can actually run both guitar and vocals to the PA which works wonderfully for the singer-songwriter cover stuff, not so much for the louder jam stuff though. Enter ABY pedal.
kidsmoke Posted November 21, 2016 Author Posted November 21, 2016 Nice! this thread starting to gain some steam. as to the workaround with a single outlet... I had a massive pedal board with a power supply and and outlet built in. the board could have accommodated....I dunno..over 20 pedals I'd imagine, and the amp simply plugged into it as well, so, all that from a single outlet. I appreciate the effort to indulge the exercise, however. Polo, ABY pedal is critical component to my "full" rig as well (when there is space, and time). I'll use my Marshall AD50 in the same manner you use the Fender. One guitar chord in, 2 signal paths out. Makes things very manageable.
notbillgelder Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 I wasn't going to reply to this post because I never thought the situation would come up. A good friend of mine and bass player Tony called me yesterday morning and asked me if I would help him with his solo gig at a local beer brewery. Tony sings, and plays acoustic guitar very well. Looking over his setlist I decided just to grab the Eagle, a Steiner cord, and the 69 Princeton and go. My pedalboard was at practice and I didn't have the time to go get it. We played for 2 hours, and the gig went well . I've learned to Never Say Never.

buzzy Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 This pairing has proven to be very versatile for me. Now where's that clean boost pedal?
