minug Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Hi all, I just cant get my 575 to play the way I like it. Any setup tricks or procedures? The neck is just about straight buzzing continues. Any help would be appreciated.
khmr33 Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 All kinds of things could be wrong... The nut might be worn out, how old is the guitar? The bridge might have collapsed, are the strings touching the back of the bridge? There could be an errant fret, how dry is the fretboard? We're going to need pics. When he was six, he believed that the moon overhead followed him... by nine he had deciphered the illusion. Trading magic for fact, no tradebacks. So this is what it's like to be an adult. If he only knew now, what he knew then...
Gitfiddler Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Without an in-hand examination of your 575, all we can offer is suggestions. It could be a number of issues, or one simple adjustment. If you've tried all that you know, it would be worth it to have a pro check it out. I do most of my own set-ups, but I took my 575 to a luthier to maximize its playability and have no regrets. Good luck.
Vanschoyck Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 I attribute the very fine playability of my 575 to two factors: pleked frets, and a very good set up man.
mad dog Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Time for a pro. My H575 played rather well, a little buzzy, but I suspected could do better. took it to my very talented luthier buddy, who did a most thorough setup. Levelled frets, tweaked the truss rod, fussed with the nut string slots. So much better, well worth it. MD
Hfan Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Or, raise the action a little, not much to lose as you will probably be bringing it in anyway. Does it buzz on the open strings? That would be the nut. As said a good set up is worth the outlay.
ironmike Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Take it to a pro if you don't know. Pros know..
Joe Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Never could bond with my 575 until it was set up by a professional.
