Pricing on new H535. Help needed!

I intend to purchase a Heritage H535 in the next 2 months. (I've been saving for some time). I am within driving distance of a dealer, and will likely purchase there.

Can anyone help me determine what kind of discount to seek over the asking price on a new H535? I've seen a new one configured as I'd like with an advertised price of $1900.

FWIW, I am interested in a plain top.

From the prices listed at Wolfe's Gbase page, $1900 is a pretty good price. They have several listed there priced from $1900 to about $2500.

That should give you some idea for working with your local dealer.

$1900 is a great street price for a 535 especially if you like the color and all. If it looks right, you play it and it feels right and sounds right take it home.

I can tell you I payed a heck of a lot more for my custom 535 than what you're looking at. $1900 is a great deal considering used are now advertised around $1400-$1600.

Do keep in mind, no case I bet for $1900.

MSRP on a normal H535 is $3530.00.

I would expect to see a "Sale Price" on the hang tag of $2647.00

If you are a really polite and outstanding customer, you might sweettalk the dealer into giving you a 10% discount which would bring the price down to $2382.50.

Try to get one for less than that and he is likely to get pissed off because you are trying to kick him in the balls and should tell you to go shop somewhere else.

At that price point (1900) I wouldn't be that worried about getting a whole lot off, but more about if I liked the guitar. Much better to leave a couple bucks on the table than to get a "good deal" on something that ultimately doesn't work for you.

The nice thing about getting one from his local dealer would be that he could check it out before buying it. He should know if the neck feel is right for him before buying. If its not to his liking, he will have options.
