rjstauber Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 One of the U-shaped hinges on my case is broken (it is now an L-shape and a separate I-shape). I would like to have the case fixed, using as many of the original (old) parts as possible, but I will need at least that U-shaped part.Has anyone been in a similar situation? Any idea where I could get such parts? The case was made in Canada, does anybody know the case manufacturer that Heritage used in the late 90's?Here are two pictures, one showing the broken side of the handle and the other the still o.k. side. Also, what would be the best way to remove the riveted base plate so that I could assemble a new U-shaped part? Will I have to tear out the inside plush locally? Best way to do that without ruining it (i.e. using a hairdryer to warm up?). Any help/tips would be much appreciated. Roland
rjstauber Posted February 8, 2017 Author Posted February 8, 2017 P.S.:Or would it be possible to hard-solder the I-shaped piece back onto the L-shape?

khmr33 Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Oh, that's interesting... I wondered if my case was an OHSC (it's a TKL) but it doesn't have "The Heritage" silkscreened on the side. Is that common? When he was six, he believed that the moon overhead followed him... by nine he had deciphered the illusion. Trading magic for fact, no tradebacks. So this is what it's like to be an adult. If he only knew now, what he knew then...

fxdi35rider Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 I had issues with my tkl 535case as well. Rivets in handles. I called tkl and they sent some new rivets for nothing. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk That was mighty nice of them. I did send an e-mail but I haven't heard back from them yet. Do you have a phone number I could try? I found some parts online which should fit, but they aren't the original ones.
fxdi35rider Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 No sorry. I don't have the number anymore. Can't remember where I got it either. I know I called heritage and told them what happened and asked who the case manufacturer was. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

High Flying Bird Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Access cases are some of the best. Just buy on of those and enjoy.
rjstauber Posted February 14, 2017 Author Posted February 14, 2017 I was able to get a hold of someone at TKL, and I did send them some detailed pictures. They are looking into it if they still have matching parts. I was happy to be able to get a hold of someone and to be in contact with them.
bolero Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 nice! I have always liked TKL cases. they are my preferred LP style case
