tulk1 Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Vid of me and the Bobs jamming on the song Breakdown. Apologies upfront that you have to hear me singing. Funny thing, I know the words. But since they were in front of me I kept reading them. Argh!! Using my Quilter Aviator 8 Gold, '95 PRS CE24. The Marshall cab isnt' even hooked up. It's there for show because the drummer didn't think the Quilter could keep up. Uh ... it did. Bass is a bit hard to hear as he was facing across the camera rather than towards it. My wife used her S7 Edge to record. Thats about it.
FredZepp Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Very nice..... and yeah the bass would have added some more fullness. The PRS / Quilter combination seems to do a really good job.
skydog52 Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Liking the tone and playing Kenny. Thanks for sharing!
JeffB Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Great song. It's one I use when I have to get my vocals working again. There a "couple"(understatement) of points I cant get to with out work and a week or so driving around singing that and a couple of other selected songs gets the strength and range back up, well, uppish anyway. You guys sound great, nice relaxed jamming.
Kuz Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Wow, I love the tone you got there with your "might mouse" amp. Really impressed. But honestly, what I was most impressed with is that your drummer has your face on the bass drum skin. The image on the bass drum is always reserved to advertise the name of the band, or reverence for the talent of the band. So you are big deal in this jam group as well as "The Drive". I guess this group is called "The Amazing Kenny and the Bobs"!!!
TalismanRich Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Kenny, you've got the vocal job. Add that one to the PSP song list!
tulk1 Posted March 18, 2017 Author Posted March 18, 2017 Thanks all. I'm really digging the Mighty Mouse amp (really, john? .... ) And that PRS seems to dig it, too. Looks like this might become a more permanent "jam" somewhere along the line. I'd be okay with that. Rich, plans are to be at PSP#10. So, yeah, lets put it on the list. Great song to jam to, for sure! Maybe by then I'll be able to start on key. and enunciate .......
fxdx99 Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Awesome. That looks like fun. Really like ur vocal delivery on the chorus. And the guitar improve just before last verse. Now that ur pedalboard is larger than ur amp gonna have to rethink that, tho... And that Piece of Real Stuff (being polite) guitar... I mean really, don't u own a nice Heritage or 2?
DetroitBlues Posted March 19, 2017 Posted March 19, 2017 Sounds great to me. Nice to hear a Quilter can cut through.
FranzMohamitz Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 I'm really impressed by these little Quilter amps!!
pegleg32 Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Really enjoyed the vid Kenny. Thought you playing was right on. I have taken literally 100's of videos on my cellphones and I have found that the tonal characteristics of cell phones tend to capture the middle of the spectrum. They almost drop the bass out, and they tend to accentuate the drum beats. I recently purchased an add on Shure MV88 digital stereo mic that I plug into my iPhone and it really gives much better reproduction. Too expensive for casual use but really get some nice vids with it.
