Gillnetter Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Old Heritage mandolin duct tape and all at about 2:50 mark. https://youtu.be/FvV5C24PC9M
notbillgelder Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Sorry it's a Gibson. I think Heritage only used F holes on their Mandolins.
Polo Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Sorry it's a Gibson. I think Heritage only used F holes on their Mandolins. Sorry Bill, It's clearly another Heritage prototype.
FredZepp Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 I will say that all of the Heritage mandolins that I've seen with the F-Style headstock , are the altered version. Same with the Centurion. The top is a different shape than a Gibby. ... the right side curls up, not down.
Genericmusic Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Aaron Cowles (I believe he made most of them) once told me that the Heritage mandolins were made with materials that Gibson left behind.
bolero Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Aaron Cowles (I believe he made most of them) once told me that the Heritage mandolins were made with materials that Gibson left behind. well you know how the saying goes " when Gibson left Kalamazoo, they left their Heritage behind" so maybe they left some wood too? someone at PSP grabbed a Gibson neck out of the junk pile in 2011 I think....1985 ->2011 = 26 years
pressure Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 I know they left an industrial bin full of necks because I saw them in 1994.
