Heading to Chi-Town again early next month, and might have the time to do some shopping/drooling.

Is the Chicago Music Exchange on Lincoln really the only dealer in that big city? Thanks

Yes. But there are some in the suburbs. I know Midwest Buy and Sell has a Prospect. I sold it to them a few weeks ago.

FWIW- CME is quite possibly the coolest music store I've ever visited. They're Heritage inventory is usually pretty decent.

Agreed. Visit CME even if they aren't a Heritage dealer. It's a great store.

Yes. I sold my Prospect. I had some unexpected bills come up and needed the money. I rarely played it. I still have my Millie and my H-150. They aren't going anywhere.

And Music gallery....what's the story on that one, Pressure, did they not broker all of your insanely amazing builds?

Guitar Works in Evanston currently has two Heritages in stock, one new and one used. They've carried them for at least 6-7 years, since I became a devotee. I have no idea as to their official standing with the company, but they've always had a handful of new/used on hand. Another very cool shop worth a visit regardless of Heritage affiliation.

In fact Little Leroy...they may have your number...may want to give them a call. maple batwing and Lollars, to boot....

I agree. If I didn't feel unfaithful, this is the 535 I want.

This is THE 535

Kip, just buy it. You know you will be able to sell your other 535.

Nope. I've got one purchase in play that just oozes practicality and frugality. This is an indulgence. I will lust from a distance and imagine in my stable. Kinda like your holy grail car...you just imagine that maybe one day, it'll be in your garage...(In my case an early 70's GTV....but I digress..)

I bought my 535 at Stonegrove Guitar in LaGrange. Ask for Max. He owns the place and he is one cool dude.

I forgot about that place. FWIW, I'm in Berwyn.

Well we made it to CME without a lot of time before having to be someplace else, which was a mistake--lots of things to look at! I found an excellent condition used USA G & L ASAT that I spent some time with--and was hard to pass up!-- wished I had more time to look around. I didn't have time to make it into the acoustic room, downstairs to the basses or next door to the drums, and I spent a good half hour as it was in the store. An employee said he didn't know if they were still a dealer or not, but just had one Heritage in stock, a 535 they had just taken in and wasn't on the floor yet. He would have let me look at it but I had to run at that time. He implied they all like Heritage a lot, but their brand recognition was poor with customers and they didn't get enough interest in the ones they had in. They had a wall full of gibsons--few of which looked interesting to me--so that was a head scratcher!

Does that mean they (CME) sold the 90's era used H150 they had last time I was there? Huh...

Chicago Fret Works had a white H140 last time I was in for some work on my guitar. That's near the Lou Malnatis in Lincoln Square if you're still in town.

Funny the quote comes up twice for some reason but I double down on that. When I first discovered Heritage I wasn't quite sure about that pick guard shape but it has grown on me to the point to where I wish all my Heritages had one. My H150 H575 and H535 all came with Gibbie shaped guards. Maybe one day I'll find "correct" ones. Especially for my H150 which deserves a nice bat wing wood guard, it currently sports a plastic Gibbie type. My 575 also yearns for one.
