Wow! I was blown away when I opened the case; the RED is dazzling.

The V V wiring is a real plus, IMHO. She has an amazing variety of tones. Does anybody have a set of instructions for the V V they could post or put up a link? I know the lower forward control is Master Volume; lower rear is Master Tone. The other controls do different things depending on where the switches are set. Very cool options. The Schaller pups are very capable; not muddy at all and not overly bright.

One of the first playing tests I like to perform is checking the sustain at the 22nd fret, especially on the B and high E strings, which I use alot. This guitar is awesome with a beautiful, full sustain there and continues when I bend the E string up to an "E", just what you'd expect a superior semi-hollow to do.

I'm playing Thursday and Friday nights, so I have a chance to see what she'll do onstage and I'm super-excited to put her through the hoops.

My only concern - at this point - is the way the nut was installed. It seems totally stable so I'm inclined to just leave it be. But it is a bit odd. Maybe that's because it was made on a SUNDAY with a righteous hangover, when everyone else was at home. ;)

I used to have a cherry red prospect I sold here on the forum, great looking guitar and fine player the neck was just too small. Congrats on the new guitar should work nicely for you in the mix.

Schaller pickups and hardware, pretty sweet! And not often do you see white PG and rings on a red guitar.

congrats. That's a cherry for sure. love to see Ren's work being put through it's paces.

Fab Heritage Prospect LL. That nut does not look factory correct.

That was my thought as well.

Yup. Somebody replaced the nut. Still plays great with the real test being the gigs this weekend. Then I'll see if I want to replace the nut.

Thanks! The V I P is even cooler than people seem to realize, based on what info I found on the web. When the mini switches are DOWN and the upper controls are on 10, you are selecting the opposite coils on the pups from when the mini switches are UP. So you can select inner coils or outer coils and can combine them however you like. Awesome! Better, IMHO, than the PRS rotary selector: more options. :clapping_mini:

She's an amazing performer! Nicely balanced; superb sustain from the 12th fret up to 22. I thought my 535 was good in the highest octaves; this one is unreal. Great intonation and very stable tuning. I have no quarrel with the Schaller pickups and roller bridge, they'll stay. I did change the tailpiece to a lightweight TonePros and shaved 5oz off.

This Prospect feels like a blessing and even more so after the disappointing experience with the Cherry 535.

Thanks for all the good wishes; they're much appreciated. I'm grateful to have such fine instruments.

I used to have a prospect, it was a fantastic guitar! kind of wish I still had it.

very comfortable to play, and got serious hollowbody tones

Oh Yeah!! And with the VIP wiring she has some very funky QWACK, too. I was gonna go for a Millie DC and someday i'd like to have one. But the Prospect retains the 19th fret neck joint, 1 5/8 thickness and the sound of a semi.

After a week of ownership and 4 outings I am totally loving this guitar's AWESOMENESS. Although her nut is all wopperjobbery looking, she's plays beautifully and solidly stays in tune. She's one of the few guitars I've owned that I can pull out of the case and find she'll be in tune. That is very rare considering the "abuse" she endures on a gig! She wears 9s with a slightly higher action and her neck is thin and fast.

I also have new RESPECT for the Schaller Roller Bridge. The tone and sustain are every bit as good as a T-O-M and I love not having to change broken strings during the break, as well as the precise string spacing and intonation. I did change out the Schaller TP, which is just way too heavy.

So, conclusion: Still in love! :heart_mini:
