deytookerjaabs Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 Yesssssssirreeeeeeeno. Found on a TGP ad linked to Reverb. Swapped some nickel covers & traditional style hardware on there for purely aesthetic reason (sounds great either way). It came with some pickups I'd never heard of before but they got that old school vibe (florance voodoo '59) no doubt. I'm smitten.
DLDTEX Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 Fantastic quilt. Congrats Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Spectrum13 Posted May 26, 2017 Posted May 26, 2017 Good looking 140! This an underrated model as big brother 150 gets all the press.
schundog Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 WOW!! That's amazing. Congratulations, enjoy that baby.
ElNumero Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Looks to be Chestnut burst, one of my all time fave finishes!!! Dibs!!
FredZepp Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 The first generation H-140's are wonderfully crafted solidbodies. They are just different enough to be different, but the same enough to be familiar. It's nice that you found one that someone had installed pickups that really enhance the experience. Congrats !
deytookerjaabs Posted June 4, 2017 Author Posted June 4, 2017 It is a looker no doubt! TBH, the jury is still out on this little fella. Wonderful bright & full bodied tone but that at the same time gives it a very "PRS" kind of sound IMO. Some love it, some "meh." I might be in the "meh" camp, lol. Maybe I should have just waited for the right H150 to come along but I'll give the 140 a few more trips around the track until then, again it's very easy on the eyes and as that nickel ages it will only look better and better
