y2kc Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Yes that is surface damage to the paint caused by the wood breaking, get your money back.
Kuz Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 I don't have the guitar in front of me to look at it, but that DEFINITELY don't look like just a surface crack in the paint to me. It looks like cracked wood.
PunkKitty Posted June 29, 2017 Author Posted June 29, 2017 It doesn't matter anymore. I packed up the guitar. I received the return shipping label. It's going back. Such is life.
pressure Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Look at it this way PK, you had all the adventure of seeking out and buying a new guitar with out the cost. Win win!
PunkKitty Posted June 29, 2017 Author Posted June 29, 2017 That's a good way to look at it. The right deal will come along when the time is right.
Yooper Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 That's a good way to look at it. The right deal will come along when the time is right. PK, Just as "the wand chooses the wizard" in Harry Potter books, your 535 will eventually find and choose you. I had to wait a few years, but it was worth it.
PunkKitty Posted June 29, 2017 Author Posted June 29, 2017 I'm not worried. I have 2 Heritages, several other guitars, and several basses to keep me occupied.
DetroitBlues Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 What a shame. Looked nice too. Its a risk that happens with guitars, especially older ones. Neck repairs are one thing... Twists? nope, not worth it.
LittleLeroy Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 we had high hopes for you and it.... I hope you have no trouble getting your $$$ back.
JeffB Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Look at it this way PK, you had all the adventure of seeking out and buying a new guitar with out the cost. Win win! Nice. The glass is refillable
ElNumero Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Usually when a guitar is priced "too good to be true" that is more than likely the case. I was hoping you snagged the deal of a lifetime. As somebody else said, at least you had the adventure! Be sure to give them negative feedback for "non disclosure" of the true condition. One thing I learned, Ebay sides to the buyer 99.9% of the time.

deytookerjaabs Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Uhg. Oh well. I've had similar things happen to me too, you'll strike gold soon enough. I'm guessing they didn't loosen the strings when they packed it.
CJTopes Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Oh what a let down that has to be. You did the right thing. Theres no way I would accept that.
PunkKitty Posted June 30, 2017 Author Posted June 30, 2017 Oh what a let down that has to be. You did the right thing. Theres no way I would accept that. I wasn't going to try to make it work. I'm glad I had the professionals at Chicago Music Exchange check it for me.
JeffGuitar Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 That's too bad. Glad you had some professionals check it out to be sure.
