skydog52 Posted September 9, 2017 Posted September 9, 2017 We attended the 100 Year Celebration. Had a great time. Good music. Good People! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
skydog52 Posted September 9, 2017 Author Posted September 9, 2017 Big plans ahead for 225 Parsons St. They want to make it a destination for the world. http://www.mlive.com/news/kalamazoo/index.ssf/2017/09/heritage_guitar_partners_with.html
FredZepp Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Yes... the photos are great. Great post with some new details. And the "Rolling Stone" licensed destination info is fantastic too. Company owners say they are partnering with Rolling Stone LLC as they develop plans to incorporate a wealth of music and pop culture into their multimillion-dollar renovation of Heritage Guitar's 225 Parsons St. location. The company is also partnering with BandLab Technologies, a Singapore-based music retailing and distribution company, to boost Heritage sales worldwide. Privately held Heritage would not disclose sales figures but said it is focused on producing and selling six handcrafted guitars each day, about 1,500 instruments per year. That is up from two to three per day in 2015. "We are excited to share that we are working closely with Rolling Stone, the most iconic name in pop culture for 50 years, and have a partnership agreement in place to develop a premium lifestyle offering at 225 Parsons," Jeff Nicholson, president of PlazaCorp Realty Advisors Inc., said in a prepared statement. "They share our passion for the location's history and significance and we are currently in an exploration phase to find operators for these opportunities."
PunkKitty Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 This is very impressive. I'm looking forward to seeing the changes happen.
bolero Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Skydog, thanks for the pics and info, that looks AMAZING, what they have planned!! truly deserving of the effort, and what that site should represent, in my opinion very exciting stuff
bsck1 Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 Thanks so much Paul. What a wonderful celebration and great news of things to come. Way to go Heritage Family!
kidsmoke Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 thanks for sharing all this Paul. Great to see visionaries with capital and respect for tradition at the helm.
DetroitBlues Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 There are some very ambitious plans for the building.... part of me is looking forward to the renaissance the 100 building will go through part of me feels like the Heritage and all we've known and loved over the years to become sort of commercialized, water downed version of itself. In all, I hope the charm and soul of what we know and remember is not lost in tourist attraction our beloved factory will become.

Best of luck to the new owners of Heritage. Seems like they're going for kind of a variation of Sweetwater Sound Inc. I'd rather they just stick to making great guitars. "Que sera sera".
skydog52 Posted September 12, 2017 Author Posted September 12, 2017 The last picture is supposed to be Marv. Looks like his same bench that we know him for.
ElNumero Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Hey Paul, nice looking lady you are with there!! I wish I could have been there instead of trying to escape Irma. My buddy JL Fulks attended as well as Marty Fine who started the "Save the Stack Foundation". The plans are very aggressive but its nice to see the face of progress without losing any of the history. If you don't change, you will never succeed!
skydog52 Posted September 16, 2017 Author Posted September 16, 2017 Some more pics from the tour. These are from the Gibbons offices, the red bricked building just to the west. Favourite was the wood sample room. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
FredZepp Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Wonderful pics. There are some really interesting parts/pieces in these latest ones. It's fun to see that the Heritage sign that I had made , made it into this display ( first group of pics ) I get a bit of a thrill from that.
DetroitBlues Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 That wood sample is awesome... Does sort of look like something you'd see in a flooring shop, not a guitar factory... But just imagine having your entire home done in quilted maple!
skydog52 Posted September 19, 2017 Author Posted September 19, 2017 Here is something that might be worth the trip. I definitely will. http://www.mlive.com/news/kalamazoo/index.ssf/2017/09/traveling_guitar_exhibit_comin.html

No where on this is there a depiction of a production facility.... I hope this revelation is just an oversight and not a hint of things to come.

DetroitBlues Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 I hope the nostalgia of building guitars in the factory doesn't become a memory. We are not the owners, so we cannot say for certain what they are doing. In the end, they will do what is best for the business. Hopefully that means, it remains in-house.
