kzoolou Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 I've been playing a lot of jangly REM/Smiths/Petty stuff lately on my Telecaster, which works great for the most part, but I'm wondering if dropping some TV Jones Gretsch pickups in my 155 would get me in the neighborhood of a more Rick style jangly sound? Has anyone ever tried anything like this?

Spectrum13 Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 At the PSP in 2013 I spotted a double cut Millie painted two tone green on a rack awaiting a couple of TV Jones pups heading for a dealer in Jupiter. Someone in Florida played it.
PunkKitty Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 I'm sure Heritage would build a guitar with Dynasonics.

LittleLeroy Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 Hi Kzoolou! My 2014 Millie DC has Dimarzio Super 2 in the Neck and Super Distortion in the Bridge. The single coil mode is excellent in these pups and does jangle quite well. The 2012 Millie Pro has Bare Knuckle Stormy Monday pups which have a great high end and do jangle just fine and they're 2-wire humbuckers. Of course, YMMV. If you like the Heritage neck carve, you may not find the Ric comfy as they're pretty small. I went with the Ric 660 which has a slightly wider neck but it's still not very deep, front to back.
