Heritage1970 Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 Any Heritage Acoustics out there? Let's see 'em!! Here's my H-475. 1 of about 5 made in 1993. Great guitar! Plays like a dream and sounds even better! Obviously Heritage Electrics are far more popular, but I've always wondered why more Acoustics weren't made? LOVE this one! Also wondering if the new Heritage will get into producing acoustic guitars?
Kuz Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 I had heard from an early PSP that Heritage acoustics were made with laminate wood. I am not sure if that is just the top, or laminate for the whole body. IF this is true, that would be one reason why they aren't as popular. I do know that Heritage did not build the entire guitar on their acoustics. We were told this at an early PSP. I think Heritage built the necks and the bodies were outsourced (thus the reason for laminate bodies, or laminate tops).

The 480 is solid carved one piece mahogany back and mahogany sides with a solid spruce top. Marv told me made "about ten" of them. he said he made the entire guitar himself. I'm still digging for more info on the HFT-485, but mine is definitely solid carved maple back and solid maple sides with a solid spruce top. That is a beautiful 475! Here is my 480. When I picked up my H-357 from the factory, Marv gave me a new signed label for the 480.

Steiner Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 Whoa! 3 of the most Beautiful, rare Heritages. Stunning wood gents
Heritage1970 Posted January 10, 2018 Author Posted January 10, 2018 Thanks for posting guys! Great looking guitars? Dave's: You're exactly right, Marv told me the same thing that the 475 and 480 were made entirely at Heritage, where as, like Kuz said, some models had bodies that were outsourced. I just always wondered why they didn't do more that were entirely made in the plant as these are some beautiful instruments! Very time consuming I would guess.

Kuz Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 Thanks fellas for clearing that laminated wood issue. I glad to know I wasn't completely wrong. And just my opinion, but the 475 & 480 have always been super super sexy to me vs the 445. But that is just my opinion.
