What is the symbol on top of this Heritage S/N?

I'm considering a used Heritage, what is that symbol above the S/N?? Appears to be an x. Has Custom Shop on the label as well FWIW. Thanks

It appears to be the year designation.

YUP....THEY DID THAT FOR A COUPLE YEARS...NOT SURE WHY

Huh so 2007 / X would be logical for this example as per the S/N dater. Thanks for the help. I'm trying to hide from a 525 that is after me. Ha.

Ha... here's another idea they toyed with .   No headstock stamp, just a label inside..   in 1989.

I do like the stamps though, I'm not crazy about the Sharpie S/Ns.

I just wanted to confirm the symbol wasn't a disguised 2 or an X for some other reason. I didn't notice there was no letter in front of the numerals.
