GrimFossa Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 Does this guitar exist?? A millenium with the floating block?? Im attracted to it's smaller body than the prospect ( which i'm pretty sure is the case) any help on this would be great!
CJTopes Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 Take it for what it's worth. I dont think they would be able to do that due to the design of the Millie. The small block that is in there is actually routed out as part of the body. . It's not a block like you would see in a 535. IMO even if they could make it "floating" I dont think it would make much of a difference in tone because most of the body is hollow anyway. (disclaimer: I could be totally wrong)
skydog52 Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 CJ is right. Different construction. More of a sandwich. Here is a pic of the "middle piece".
GrimFossa Posted February 22, 2018 Author Posted February 22, 2018 right on, Very interesting to see that actual piece of the guitar!! Thanks for your help guys!
tulk1 Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 There's a version of the Millie out there that is an actual semi-hollow. Arched top, arched back, floating block. Think a few were even ordered as full hollows. They aren't exactly the same as the current Millie. In fact, they are nothing like the current version. Think more of a baby Eagle, etc. With the new management, I'd imagine it would cost a very very extremely pretty penny to get one made.
skydog52 Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 Here is a good video of what these things can do...................backwards.
tulk1 Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 That's an Ultra isn't it? The guitars all look backwards, so I had to play the video from end to the beginning. Still sounded great!
