tbonesullivan Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 I've got a few (actaully a lot) of Carvin bass amps, and they used this black fuzzy covering called "duratuff" that was pretty common until recently. I've got some areas where it's starting to fall off around the seam, and I'd like to glue it back in place to keep it from spreading further. However, the material is somewhat porous, unlike tolex, so I'm not sure if the same type of glue would work. I'd be worried it would just get absorbed into the fuzz, and not actually glue anything. Any suggestions? I do have some contact cement, which has been suggested. Some also said spray adhesive was used, but that really wouldn't work for this.
TalismanRich Posted May 17, 2018 Posted May 17, 2018 Gorilla Glue? It sticks to most everything and is really strong.
bolero Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 don't be flicking any boogers on that fuzzy dufflebag....
tbonesullivan Posted May 22, 2018 Author Posted May 22, 2018 I have had a suggestion for gorilla glue clear. The regular gorilla glue can actually kinda expand, which is not the desired effect. I'll probably try some of that this weekend. Its just starting to come off, so this should nip it in the bud.
