HANGAR18 Posted July 23, 2018 Posted July 23, 2018 They are expensive and a lot of people like them. But I don't know anything about them.

tbonesullivan Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 They are worth every bit of the $1499 list price. Great amps, well thought out and engineered. The only thing some say is that the clean is too "clean" for some people's tastes, but if you want something to take pedals, it's great. The lead channel is epic.
davesultra Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 I was looking at the very same amp. I’ll wait for a tone report from the Brent’s Guitar Emporium channel.
abcpeterson Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 I can't afford his amps, but I do have his BE-OD. Very well built pedal and just massive tone goodness.
davesultra Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 While still not cheap, I believe the Runt series utilize PCB construction.

The Runt series are the "value-oriented" series from the brand, with PCB based construction. The rest are hand-wired turret board type construction. Not only are the Runts on the lower end of the line in terms of price, they also have more features due to the cost reduction of PCB construction. Regarding PC Board amps, it's been good enough for Mesa Boogie, it's good enough for me.
deytookerjaabs Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 If they're good enough for Grandpa's pacemaker, I suppose I can allow one in my amp too. But, if I was an amp, I wouldn't want to be referred to as "runt."
brentrocks Posted July 25, 2018 Author Posted July 25, 2018 I got it and it seems to be VERY PICKY about tubes. Im on the 4th set now and it’s finally now not making wierd noises.

Jaguarguy Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Tubes appear to be a bit of a crapshoot these days!

I get mine from a dealer who puts them all through microphonics, shorts, and other tests before selling them. I haven't had a bad tube yet. The issue is that most people pull their good tubes when selling and amp, and you end up with crap tubes.
