michaeljames Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 I think mine is Korina, but it doesn't say so on the back of plate. Sure looks like it though ~ the darker streaks and the grain. Besides the 'if it doesn't say it it isn't' ~ anyone here ever seen a Heritage Korina that was not identified as Korina?
davesultra Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 No, it would have the designation written on the sticker on the control cavity cover. I suppose it’s possible, just unlikely.
rwinking Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 Not sure if they would cover a korina body with tv yellow. That would not make sense to me....

Hey Brother, How you doing! Great to see you. I have one, super light, looks like Korina but is Mahogany! AWESOME GUITAR
Gitfiddler Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 I've never seen a Heritage label identifying the wood type/species. That said, Korina (African Limba) is a great tone wood. Heritage has only used it in a few models over the years.
DavesNotHere Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 My 357 label says Korena. I'm beginning to think Marv pulled a fast one on me. Oh, and it's orange.

DetroitBlues Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 Answering his question of Korina or not. Yes its possible its Korina, but most likely its not.

HANGAR18 Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 Foxe's in Falls Church VA had a bunch of Korina guitars made with P-90 pickups. This was a while ago. They couldn't give them away. Well, I should say that I presume they didn't sell because because they were listed above MSRP and they wouldn't budge on the price. I can't tell you how many Heritage guitars I've owned which never even had a label at all.
