ThePickupArtist Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 Hi everyone, I've been a Heritage collector for a couple of years now, and I've just purchased an H-140 with a "D" code. It has phase/kill switches like a 162 or a 204 DD, and, it's "Rhythm/Treble" selector switch is down by the volume and tone knobs. Given that in '87, Heritage was experimenting with the Diving Ducks, and developing the 140, could this be a prototype I've purchased, or, did they build them this way for the first year or two? I've seen other '87 140's and they've all had the "standard" configuration the the Rhythm switch on top, and no toggle switches. Could this have been ordered by someone with this configuration? I bought it at a Guitar Center 50-minutes from Kalamazoo, where an ex-employee or an original customer might have sold it locally? I know, that's grasping at straws, but, of all the 140's I've seen in the past couple years on Reverb and eBay, I've never come across one like this.
ThePickupArtist Posted February 22, 2019 Author Posted February 22, 2019 Hi Everyone, I just added an H-207 Diving Duck to my Heritage collection, and, I know the H-204's are rare, but, does anyone have a number for the 207's? There couldn't have been that many built, but, I am curious as to HOW MANY?
TalismanRich Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 The H140 has one of Heritage's VIP systems. Since the wiring is quite involved, the pickups selector was moved down next to the other controls. This should be what the inside looks like. As for the DD, they aren't very common. There was another thread recently about the 207DD. I'm not sure if this is the same guitar. Brent picked it up and it had a Gator case with it.
ThePickupArtist Posted February 23, 2019 Author Posted February 23, 2019 Thanks for the wiring info, it's informative, unfortunately I somehow inadvertently posted that to this thread. It's from another guitar I bought a couple months ago. Not sure how I mucked that up I just got the 207 from Wolfe Guitars in Jupiter FL. They'd only had it a couple of days when I saw it and bought it. It's the same one seen in another thread, and I've been looking for a 207 for quite some time (I always seem to be a day late, or a dollar short the few times I've come across one). I wish I could get an idea of just how rare this model is. It doesn't affect my enjoyment of it, of course, but, as a Heritage collector, it's fun to know.
