jamison162 Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Is the standard hardware "chrome" or "nickle"? I for one really can't tell the difference between these two. But...I'm thining my stock TP and Bridge is more chrome than nickle. Secondly, has anyone changed out the stock bridge, tailpiece, studs for TonePros or any other aftermarket hardware? On the TP bridge, would you go with the pre-notched or unnotched saddles? Either have to notch them, or take the chance that the prenotched ones line up perfectly. Any thoughts on lightweight aluminum tailpieces on the H-150's?
jamison162 Posted November 29, 2007 Author Posted November 29, 2007 Oh, and short shaft or long shaft pots for Heritage tops?

On my guitar the strings wouldn't line up properly if they had been pre-notched. Paul P
jamison162 Posted November 29, 2007 Author Posted November 29, 2007 That's what I was thinking. Stock bridge isn't centered on the saddles either. I don't know why they arn't nice and perfect. J/K
Thundersteel Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 AFAIK, the standard hardware is nickel. I also think the pots are the long shaft, as the short shafts are made only for pre-70s era LPs. I also would go with the unnotched saddles; that way, you can line up the strings to how you want.
GuitArtMan Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 My H-535 special came stock with TonePros hardware. The odd thing is it's chrome and the pickups are aged nickel - Antiquities. As for the normal, I'd say it's chrome to match the chrome covers on the Schallers/HRWs. Maybe if you got nicke pickups such as Seth Lovers you'd get nickel hardware as well. You can nothe your own saddles.
jamison162 Posted November 30, 2007 Author Posted November 30, 2007 The chrome and nickle all look the same to me...without seeing in person side-by-side. The Heritage website specs all say Chrome Hardware, maybe I should email them. Yeah, I have short shafts, so I'm gonna need to get some long one's.
