H150...CM or CM Classic?

I'm new to this forum and have a quick question...

I bought a 1993 H150 CM from a friend who got it in a trade and knows very little about it. Is there any way to find out if it's a CM or a CM Classic?

Is the only difference the pickups?

This looks to be a friendly and helpful forum filled with lovers of amazing handbuilt electrics.

I'm glad to be here!

Welcome Skip!

There are lots of knowledgable and friendly people here...stick around!  You got pics of your Heritage?

Welcome to the HOC!

If I remember correctly, a "regular" CM has Schaller pickups installed, while a "classic" CM has Seymour Duncan pickups.

Another quick way to tell if you have Schallers or others, as in Duncans, is to look at the screws in the pickup surrounds. Schallers will have double screws. Others will have single screws.

Now, how about some pics? Oh ... and welcome to the forum.

Wow - this is a friendly forum!

This guitar was too amazing to pass up, I'll be using it in sessions & in church.

I'm trying to show a pic from my Photobucket album, tried in the traditional way, but there must be some secret - what did I do wrong?

The fine folks at Heritage told me it was a dark amber finish - I've heard it called Tiger Maple or Flame Maple - WHAT SAY YE?

Thanks again friends!

"Dark Amber" refers to the color or tint of the finish on the guitar.  The Heritage website has color charts and many thumbnails of guitars displaying the various finishes they apply.  References to "flame" or "quilt" refer to the unique character of the grain of each piece of maple used in the tops, backs, and sides of the guitars -- more or less regular, more or less narrow; you get the picture.  The lumber Heritage uses in its guitars is remarkable in its character and beauty!  And welcome to the forum, skip'.

The way I do it (though other methods may well work) is...

Open your Photobucket site... Open your picture..

In the "Image Link Code" dialog box (bottom right (ish)...

Right click the text just below where it says IMG Code -  Forums & Bulletin Boards

From the resulting pop up menu select "copy"

Then navigate to the HOC forum page. Make sure you have a cursor blinking where you want the image to be placed...

Right click on the cursor and select "Paste" from the resulting pop up menu.

It's really very easy. Just sounds a little difficult when it's written down.

Basically ...Copy... Paste.

The more "purist" way of doing it. And I mention this because it will work with pretty much any image on the web. Though beware of any copyright implications (Okay mr Admin) :police: You may prefer this method as it saves learning two ways of doing the same thing.

Is... Right click an image (anywhere on the web Including photobucket). Select "Copy Image Location" from the resulting pop up menu.

Then navigate to the page on the HOC where you want to insert your image....

Make sure the cursor is in the right place...

Left Click on the "Insert Image" button. It is one of the buttons just above the "smileys". Just to the left of the one that looks like a globe and two to the right of the Youtube one. (Hover your pointer above it and it will reveal itself).

When you click on it some text will appear where your cursor was blinking. It will look something like this... [img/]. Your cursor will still be blinking in the middle.

Right click on that cursor and select "Paste Image Location" from the resultant pop up menu.

Job Done...

Just to make sure click on the "Preview" button at the bottom of the page. Then click "Post"

It may sound more complicated at first but is really quite easy when you get the hang of it.

Also... You may find this does not work with all web images as some are copyrighted and the menu will be disabled. There are still ways of getting round this but probably not in the scope of your enquiry  >:D ;D

Good luck...

OK, another question...

Has anyone bought a replacement pickguard from Heritage?

How are they to work with?

The guitar came without a pickguard, I'm debating putting it back to original...

Welcome to the HOC!  Killer looking axe!  Yes, if you contact Heritage, they should be able to help you with a guard.  Someone also makes guards here, I think cryoman? Correct me if I'm wrong guys. And again. Your 150 is beautiful ;D

You might need to try to log in a few times, I just tried logging in to the gallery and it took a few attempts.

BTW the logon to the gallery should be the same user name and password as for the HOC itself.
