DetroitBlues Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 This is the lucky 13 year for the Parsons Street Pilgrimage. It had me thinking... Here's a serious yet hypothetical question. If we were able to do a "Crowd Source" design for a Heritage Guitar that was exclusively for PSP Members... Think of a model that represents who we are. What model would it be? What features would you have? IMHO: H140 One Piece Maple Top One Piece Back Belly Carve 3 piece neck (Mahogany/Maple/Mahogany) Bound Fretboard with Dot Inlays Special HOC/PSP Inlay at 12th Fret Bound, crowned, and inlaid headstock with maple cap veneer. Seth Lover Pickups Nickel Hardware Artisan Dirty Lemon
Steiner Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 I like what you're thinking. 1 augmentation: Florentine horn!
pressure Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 Make those dots 4mm with a medium width headstock and a "Ghost Stinger" and it sounds good to me. And make a gold top available.
TalismanRich Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 I like the idea of the H140, and you're on the right track. BUT..... Sorry, no dots. Open trapezoid markers, and the V1 cutaway, not V2. I would spec an ebony fretboard as well.
Jaguarguy Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 If I could have any one designed for us I'd pick an H357. Like the people here we're a bit different and not to everyone's tastes. I love the Korina ones but the original Sunburst would be ok with me too! I like the open trapezoid markers also. I'd throw in Throbak P90 pick-ups into it. Brazilian board would be nice but I could live with ebony.

skydog52 Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 Since we are dreaming. I would go with their best seller. Tricked up H-535 All the H-555 appointments with Thro-Bak KZ-115 pickups.

funkapus Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 The one I want the most anyway: a natural Johnny Smith. But I know I'm alone there.

rockabilly69 Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 For my pick, I say bust out a reissue of a Marv-'bird, with one P90 (and for god's sake not a Lollar, maybe something like a slightly hot Throbak), and a wraptail bridge. I'd jump for one of those!
yoslate Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 Let's put a committee together to design a guitar....

zguitar71 Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 A Sweet “16” non cutaway with a tap tuned top. Two piece maple neck 1 3/4 nick width Ebony Board dot inlays 24 3/4 scale raised fretboard parallel bracing Basically I would like to see a 20s L5 design Archtop from Heritage with the focus on acoustic tone not amplified. Oh, it must be Cremona Brown too!
Gitfiddler Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 This calls for a focus group collaboration...!

bolero Posted January 31, 2020 Posted January 31, 2020 I can't afford to buy anything anyway, so I'm out but a repro of the #1 H140 they had hanging on the wall at 225 would be cool it was all mahogany, if I recall? no maple cap ps did Heritage ever make an H225 model? would be a great anniversary model #

bolero Posted January 31, 2020 Posted January 31, 2020 huh...check this out: apparently the first Thinline hollowbody model ever made at 225 was the ES-225 before the 330, 335 etc with a single P90. Here is a 2x pickup model, the ES-225TD I believe that is the same model that Marv is sanding, in the 1956 (?) pic at the factory? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gibson_ES-225
bolero Posted January 31, 2020 Posted January 31, 2020 I think Heritage already made one like that though? forgot the model number....it was a thinner H575 with P90's
