evanlarkin Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 Hey there folks. I recently bought my first heritage, a 2001 H-150, and I'm trying to figure out if this is an expected behavior or something I'm going to want to fix, because I've never seen it before. Basically, when either pickup has its volume all the way down, I get no sound at all from the middle position on the pickup selector. As long as both of them are 'on' (volume 1+), it works fine, but not if either one of them is all the way down. I know this is kind of a weird thing to even realize, because if you're turning one all the way down, why not just flip the switch? My curiosity has just gotten the better of me I guess. Has anyone heard of this before?
AP515 Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 I didn't know what to think of it either when I first encountered it. I came from a Strat as my first electric gitfiddle. As PK says, it's normal on the LP 4 knob layout.
bobmeyrick Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 It is possible to wire the guitar so that turning down one of the volume controls does not turn off the sound completely. More information here. There are pros and cons to each method.
