What does a “u” in my serial number mean?

I get that the H means 1991 and the 093 is the 93rd day of the year but what is the U1? Sorry if this has been addressed, I tried to read a bunch before posting. Thanks!

Maybe its an incomplete "0" It looks too short compared to the other letters and numbers. I might just be seeing things though.

Hmm, I'll bet you're right, it does look shorter.  Thanks, that's really been bugging me, I've been looking everywhere for what a "U" could be!  :D

Also, it wasn’t made on the 93rd day of the year. For heritage guitars, you take 365 and subtract 93 days from the end of the year. Yours was made on the 272nd day of the year.
