tsp17 Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 2003 ASB Super Kenny Burrell with HRW pickups. Number 11 made. Not sure how many were made total, but Kenny's contract was not for all that long, so I am guessing 30 or 40? Anyone know? Purchased from our old friend MartyGrass (Mark G.) who gets major props. We had originally come to terms on a Super Eagle, but that arrived damaged in transit. Mark was great through that process and we ended up making a very nice (both ways) deal on this SKB, so I wound up with a bucket list guitar in the end and Mark was happy with the UPS resolution, so everyone came out all the better for the journey. I am very grateful. I never thought I would ever own 1) this fine of an instrument, 2) part of Kenny's legacy, and a 3) highlight of the Heritage story. Does this mean my quest is over? Will post more as I get to know it, but here are some pics from Mark's file for now. More to come...

Gitfiddler Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 Congratulations, again, TSP. That is one fine archtop. Play it in good health.
Vanschoyck Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 Brilliant! I hope it's everything you need it to be.

TalismanRich Posted October 2, 2020 Posted October 2, 2020 You should tell Mark to stop in and say "Hi!" sometime.

I never quite got why that all turned so bad, but I wasn't involved, so I can't really say. I've been in touch with him here and there. We started chatting again when I finally installed that Benedetto style ebony tailpiece he sold to me on my H550. Sent him a picture via jazz guitar.be. I know he and Bob (RhodesScholar) were very close - he lost a good friend. Our world is so full of animosity right now. We can change that, one friendship at a time, one buried hatchet at a time, one bit of empathy at a time. Time to put it behind us and welcome an old friend back?
golferwave Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 looking at the online user list it would appear freedom has arrived for Mark.

We can change that, one friendship at a time, one buried hatchet at a time, one bit of empathy at a time. Time to put it behind us and welcome an old friend back? Your appeal has moved us. From this day forth, let the Third of October be known as "The Official HOC Day of Forgiveness." Members may submit petitions to us for the purpose of reviewing the status of certain other Members, or former-Members, who have left our humble kingdom. There are, naturally, some ground rules: Petitions must be received between 00:00 UTC on 30 SEP and 00:00 UTC on 1 OCT Individual Petitions may only refer to a singular Member or former-Member Individual Petitions may only be submitted by a singular Member, although multiple Members may wish to "sign on," as it were. No effort will be made by us to investigate the veracity of claims that other Members have "signed on" to any given Petition All such multi-signatory Petitions will be made Public Petitions submitted must consist of the following parts: Executive Summary: listing the Username of the Member upon whose behalf the Petition is submitted and an overview of the reason(s) clemency should be granted Historical Elucidation: a brief summary of the history of and contribution to the community by the Member upon whose behalf the Petition is submitted Detailed and Protracted Discourse on the Merits: the meat of the Petition; a well-reasoned and moving argument. This is where the Petitioning Member should let their bloviating skills really shine. This section shall not contain: Name calling Finger pointing Abusive language, especially none directed at the Moderation or Administration staff, but also none referencing other Members Statement of Contrition and Oath of Good Behavior: this is an optional section, but should strongly be considered for inclusion Closing Statement: The Petitioner may put whatever they want in here, as we will likely not make it this far through the Petition if the prior Section is done properly. Good choices would include "The HOC Creed" or maybe the lyrics to "Rocky Mountain High." All Petitions submitted must have impeccable grammar, spelling and syntax and absolutely no use of Logical Fallacies will be permitted If more than one Petition should be received by us during the time frame specified, the most well-written, but not necessarily the most well-argued, Petition will be selected for review If no Petitions are received by us during the time frame specified, on 3 OCT one Swedish Porn Spammer account will be un-banned, at the discretion of us There is no guarantee of Clemency Decreed this day, 3 OCT 2020, by the undersigned, @Administrator With that nonsense out of the way: Beautiful guitar, @tsp17. Kenny Burrell is one of my all-time favorites. Also, welcome back @MartyGrass.
