slappadabass Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 Hello there. I just got a brand new eagle classic. It sounds great, I am just wondering if my volume knobs are acting like they should as I am not used to this behaviour. From volume 0 to about volume 8 the perceived volume change is about constant, but not very large. The volume "opens up" a lot some place between 8-10 and I'll have to be very gentle to not get a sudden pretty large boost in volume. Both the bridge and neck pickup volume knobs behave the exact same. Is this normal?
Spectrum13 Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 Hello Slappy and welcome to the HOC. I have halve a dozen heritage guitars and have either replaced or sent to the factory (to install) linear taper CTS pots and paper in oil caps on all. Some might play on "10" and "5" but I like a smooth taper. The factory buys in bulk and uses what they stock as this is not an issue with lots of players. Your needs might be different.
MartyGrass Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 That's common. I've used these. https://rs-guitarworks.myshopify.com/products/rs-guitarworks-500k-superpot-long
