fxdx99 Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 Playing around the house w/o plugging in while working on chord voicings. These sound great unplugged, especially the hollow 525 w/the 'reverb adding' tailpiece. 535 I believe is 'sunset burst'. Can't recall the 525 burst flavor... natural burst? But anyway, 'bursts have the best tone...
golferwave Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 Nice pair of Heritage's there Randy ... Enjoy! A great thing to be doing while we try to dodge the polar express.
bobmeyrick Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 My three bursts, from L to R: VSB (Vintage), ALSB (Almond), ASB (Antique). My other three Heritages are a Natural H575, Trans Black H150 and Goldtop H150 Special.
TalismanRich Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 Chestnut burst, Almond burst and the classic Cherry burst!
Gitfiddler Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 Here's two versions of "Old Style Burst" (OSB):

skydog52 Posted February 13, 2021 Posted February 13, 2021 Two versions of VSB and ALSB. Label said Dark ALSB.
Gitfiddler Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 All of these beautiful bursts!! Great thread. @Yooper...I thought ASB was Almond Sun Burst.

ALSB is Almond Sun Burst. Antique Sun Burst must have been designated before Almond. I still don't get how they came up with that nutty description. I see it more as a faded cherry. The run quite a spectrum of colors. I have a translucent "Amber" 535 that looks very wine red. Who am I to disagree with what's on the sticker?

fxdx99 Posted February 14, 2021 Author Posted February 14, 2021 Sticker reflects 'ALMSB' finish... which think is Always Lugubriously Melodic Sensational Band
pressure Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 This would be a Marv Burst because he did this as a custom burst for this guitar. Marv also rolled the neck for this one, I know because he called me to come up to Kalamazoo to try the neck in the raw. I'm not sure he knew it would be a 400 mile round trip for me. I had a Fab time.

DetroitBlues Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 Beautiful guitars! My only burst in my current inventory is not a Heritage
ElNumero Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 'bursts is a term reserved for Gibbons guitars from 58-60
