HELP! What was my late 80s Heritage that has no info anywhere?

In the late 80s I had a solid red Heritage X body style w/rosewood board, no binding, stop tail, hockey stick headstock w/Grovers all on one side, 1 Schaller (hot) uncovered  'bucker and 1 warm as all hell slanted single coil w/large pole pieces neck pup guitar.  The pick guard looked like a reverse V shape with the point of the V flattened. I still have the tuners, pups and pick guard. The guitar was a second and unplayable (except for slide) above the 7th fret. The body and neck are long gone. Anyone know what it was called and where I can find one? I've looked and done multiple searches on the web and on this site to no avail. Now I'm tortured!  ;)

I've seen one for sale some time ago here in the Netherlands. I believe it could have been an H 127 custom or standard.

You could have a quick look on my website to check if the body shape and headstock of my 127 look like your old buddy.

Thanks for trying, but that model looks like a set neck Tele.  Mine was that color red though. The body shape of the guitar I owned was closest to a Gibson Explorer in shape, but it was not an Explorer clone. The headstock was very Explorer like. It also had the headstock back painted in black and terminating into a point. The headstock simply said "The Heritage" w/no model name. It was a "pointy" hard rock style guitar that used a stop tail instead of a whammy. I've only ever seen the one I owned. I've done many searches for it and it appears in no literature that I've found. I've never seen one on ebay either but I figure someone here knows of it. I purchased the guitar at Green Shift Music and Comics on Nebraska Ave. in Tampa, FL. Green Shift was a Heritage dealer and they bought a bunch of seconds once. I say once because the seconds that arrived were awful. I picked it up new for $250. Really a steal if it had been playable. As it wasit wasn't and I didn't have the cash back then for a board level and refret. Augostino's over on Drew St. in Clearwater, FL said it had two issues: 1. the neck set was off and 2. the board had a hump in it. I was told he could level the board and get it more playable then it was but that a reset and board level would be around $100 more than I paid for the guitar. His consensus was it was good for parts and not much else. Greenshift sold all those seconds "as is" so I had no recourse there. I had played it in the shop but hadn't sited the neck so I missed the hump altogether and the neck didn't click with me until Augostino had shown me the issue.

Heritage made an explorer-styled body with six-on-a-side tuners back in the mid- to late-80s.  It was called the "Terminator" model.  I had found a used model (black, white guard) for sale on the used section of Guitarget's site, but I see it's no longer there.  :-

I did a search for "terminator" and/or "xterminator" with "Heritage guitar" to no avail. I've found many pages showing Heritage models but this mode  is never included. It seems kinda' odd as Heritage is not that old of a manufacturer. I would think at least one collector or web page would list all the models they've made...

Does any one here know of any Heritage experts out there? Maybe a Mom/Pop shop that's been a dealer since day one?

I think pretty much all of the Heritage experts are to be found here, at Wolfe Guitars (Jay posts here occasionally) or are available for the cost of a phone call to the factory.  I'll check my other hard drive and see if I saved a copy of that Terminator guitar.  If I have it, I'll post it.

Here it is.

Yep, that was it.  Did you find it at Guitarget?  Last time I searched for Heritage in used guitars, it only returned four and that wasn't one of them.  If it's still there, that's been for sale since at least June/July.

Didn't he say his had a hockey stick headstock with grover tuners "all on one side".

If this is the closest thing there is to what he described then DanD is not talking about a Heritage.

Dick - Yes, this photo came from the link you posted in what, September(?)  when you were discussing the Terminator.

I don't know why there wouldn't be one with a pointed headstock, Kaz.

Man, look at all the break fixes on that neck!  :o  Someone needs to find a better luthier!  ;D

Yeah, it was a while ago when I was mulling that one over.  I figured it would be neat to have if only for the 'rare bird' status.  Never jumped on it, though.
