PunkKitty Posted June 1, 2021 Posted June 1, 2021 There was a major fire at Boutique Amps Distribution today. Boutique Amps Distribution houses the following brands; Friedman Amplification, Wampler, Soldano, Egnator, Diezel Synergy, Matthews Effects, Tone King, Bogner and Morgan. But rather than just being a warehouse, the property is also a manufacturing facility.https://www.gearnews.com/boutique-a...-destroys-building-that-houses-friedman-amps/
JeffB Posted June 1, 2021 Posted June 1, 2021 Yikes! 2021 pedal shortage! Glad no one was injured. I hope they can all come back from this. Those companies are some of guitar lands best amp designers and builders.
Steiner Posted June 1, 2021 Posted June 1, 2021 This is going to take years to recover. Sad day in the music industry.
Gitfiddler Posted June 1, 2021 Posted June 1, 2021 Wow! I know that industrial area very well. Thankfully no residents were involved. Possible smoke damage to homes, however. Hopefully the Fire Marshall will eventually announce the origin and cause of the fire.
tbonesullivan Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 I was following this on the book of Face, and this is what Wampler posted: Quote Thank you to everyone who has shown concern and support in the wake of the fire that broke out last night at Boutique Amps Distribution, the Los Angeles manufacturing facility of Wampler Pedals, as well as several other world leading amp and pedal brands. First of all, we'd like to thank the Los Angeles Fire Department for their incredible response to the situation, which in all likelihood prevented what could have been an even worse outcome. Also, the building was completely empty and it's with extreme gratitude that we are able to say no bodily injury of any kind occurred as a result of the fire. Unfortunately, we don't know all the facts concerning the extent of the damage and are not able to provide a lot of information at this time. The part of the building that was most affected by the blaze was a tenant-occupied area that did not house any portion of Boutique Amps, and we're absolutely heartbroken for everyone who was affected by that damage. Once again, we can't say and won't speculate on any specifics at the moment, but as you can imagine there is at least some loss to the Boutique Amps building and its contents due to exposure to smoke and water. Thank you once again, your support means a lot to us all and we will provide updates as soon as any are available. So, the fire did not involve any of the BAD production, however water damage, smoke, etc still happened. They probably can't go back in until the FD and engineers clear the building.
Gitfiddler Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Hopefully those impacted carried fire and business interruption insurance covering these losses.
rwinking Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 I wonder if Synergy Amps were in there? All of those boutique amp builders are involved in building the Synergy module tube preamps. They were just starting to take off especially after Vai had his signature model. Friedman, Egnater, Soldano, Bogner and Morgan all build those suckers for Synergy. What a set back!
DetroitBlues Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Value of used amps just went up. Joe Bonamassa probably has the largest stock in amps in LA now....

Synergy is under the B.A.D. umbrella, so they are built there as well. It's definitely going to disrupt things for some time to come in a major way.
TalismanRich Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 B.A.D sounds lot like the old Premier Builders Guild, that worked with Fano, Baker, Koll, ToneKing, Two Rock and others to manufacture product to each builder's spec. It won't be long before the self fulfilling prophesy of shortages and jacked up prices will show up on Reverb.
PunkKitty Posted June 2, 2021 Author Posted June 2, 2021 Or people will just go back to the old standbys of Fender, Marshall, Vox, Mesa, Orange, etc.
davesultra Posted June 7, 2021 Posted June 7, 2021 Looks like we won’t be seeing a “Fire Sale” anytime soon. “I’ll be here all week. Try the Veal.”
ElNumero Posted June 23, 2021 Posted June 23, 2021 I heard that no amplifiers were harmed by this event.
